The Chicago City Council has approved the mixed-use affordable development known as Harvest Homes II in East Garfield Park. Located at 3415 West Jackson Boulevard, YIMBY recently covered when the project was approved by the Plan Commission around a month ago. The wedge-shaped site is bounded by West 5th Avenue to the south.
With permission now granted by the City of Chicago, construction work can begin on a three-story, three-unit frame residential building at 2745 West Monroe Street in East Garfield Park. The entity of BMA Investments LLC 2745 West Monroe applied for a permit on June 11. It came through on July 21st with a reported cost of $500,000.
The Chicago Park District has released the first iteration of its framework plan for the future of Grant Park in The Loop. Bounded by East Randolph Street to the north and East Roosevelt Road to the south, the 319-acre park is commonly known as “Chicago’s Front Yard.” The plan outlines a vision for how the city could remodel and expand the park in the coming years.
A new construction permit has been issued by the City of Chicago to build a masonry three-flat at 1509 West School Street in the Lake View neighborhood. Property owner Coen Development applied for the permit on May 13, and it came through on July 21. It cites a reported cost of $1.2 million, with Coen acting as their own general contractor.
Plans have been revealed for a mixed-use development at 1215 West Belmont Avenue in Lakeview. Located near the intersection with North Racine Avenue, the new structure will replace Stage 773, a small community theater known for hosting the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival. The project is being led by JAB Real Estate.
