A vintage late-19th century greystone in Washington Park will be renovated, thanks to a permit issued by the city on October 27. At 5813 South Wabash Avenue, the three-story plus basement multi-family residence will have its three dwelling units renovation, with one Additional Dwelling Unit added.

The renovation permit was issued to Drawbridge Equity Partners LLC of Springfield. The plans were drawn up by Oscar Alsa of Architectonic Solutions in West Town, and Empyreal Holding LLC, an entity registered in Miami Beach, will bring their talents north to perform general contracting duties.

The same team has a pending permit in the Chicago Data Portal to build a 25-foot by 24-foot frame garage at the rear of the property, on the alley off 58th Street. A previous garage was permitted for demolition on October 9th; the most recent Google Street View image shows that had already been torn down as of August.

The most recent Google image from the alley shows the garage already demolished.
Real estate listings show the building, erected in 1895, sold in April of last year for $225,000. Another listing shows it going up for sale again this spring, but was then pulled back off the market in August.

Nice to see it renovated instead of destroyed.
