Permits have been issued for a three-story residential building at 6447 S Ellis Avenue, located in Woodlawn. Owned by Mike Slazas, the planned project will contain four total units, along with a basement and a rear three-story open porch. The new structure is set to replace a currently vacant lot. However, given the larger size of the parcel and its current address of 6445 S Ellis Avenue, it is unclear if the owner will ultimately fit two new buildings within its bounds.

Plan Commission Approves Lakefront Megadevelopment at Former Michael Reese Hospital Site in Bronzeville

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the Bronzeville Lakefront Megadevelopment planned for the former Michael Reese Hospital site in Bronzeville. The 71-acre site spans a large parcel of land from E 26th Street to E 31 Street from north to south, and from S Martin Luther King Drive to S Lake Park avenue from west to east respectively. The existing Prairie Shores residential complex is included in the scope of this project, but will remain unchanged.

Renderings have been revealed for a two-tower proposed mixed-use development located at 601 W Monroe Street in West Loop Gate. Located on a rectangular lot, the site sits along W Monroe Street, spanning the entire width of the block from S Jefferson Street to S Desplaines Street. Currently a surface parking lot, the parcel is directly adjacent to Heritage Green Park. Pacific Reach Properties is the developer behind the proposal.

Owned by Mike Slazas, the development is set to contain four total units, a basement, a rear three-story open wood porch, and parking for four cars. Currently, the site is occupied by a vacant lot. Given the larger size of the property and its differing address of 6246 S Maryland Avenue, it is unclear if the new structure will occupy the lot in its entirety or just a portion.

Podium Facade Wraps Up for 1125 W Van Buren Street, aka Avra West Loop
