Caisson permits were issued this Wednesday for the Park Boulevard Phase 3B development, filed under the address of 41 W 36th Street in Bronzeville. Developed by Stateway Associates LLC, the new construction will comprise of two five-story residential buildings. With the current phase at its southwest corner, the larger Park Boulevard development is set to replace the former Chicago Housing Authority Stateway Gardens housing projects. This masterplan includes a total of 1,316 units spread across both townhomes and apartments.

Demolition permits have been issued for a one-story masonry building at 160 N Peoria Avenue in West Loop‘s Fulton Market district, clearing the way for a 43-story mixed-use tower planned by Tucker Development and Related Midwest. With an official address of 906 W Randolph Street, the 495-foot-tall edifice will be one of West Loop’s tallest structures. The project will yield a total of 300 apartments atop ground-level retail. Among these units, 60 will be affordable, double what is required under the Affordable Requirements Ordinance. The developers have also planned to contribute roughly $4.9 million to the neighborhood opportunity fund.

Groundbreaking is expected to occur this fall after the Chicago City Council has approved the revised design for 1000M, a long-planned residential skyscraper at 1000 S Michigan Avenue in South Loop. Fronting S Michigan Avenue, the project site is an infill site between E 9th Street and E 11 Street. Currently a stalled construction site, the development already has caissons in the ground.
