Zoning has been approved for the residential redevelopment of 79 W Monroe Street in The Loop. Located at the corner of S Clark Street, this proposal is among the first from LaSalle Street Reimagined to receive initial approval. The project is led by R2 Companies and the Campari Group, with Ware Malcomb serving as the designer.
Construction has begun for the 52-unit 3605 North Ravenswood residential development in North Center. Located on the northeast corner of the intersection connecting Addison Street, Ravenswood Avenue, and Lincoln Avenue, the six-story building is being developed by Macon Construction (also the general contractor) and Stocking Urban. Designs by Hirsch MPG call for the sixth floor to serve as an amenity deck, with the ground floor holding two commercial spaces. There will be 12 off-street parking spaces on the alley off Ravenswood.

Zoning has been approved for the mixed-use development at 1101 W Berwyn Avenue on the southern end of Edgewater. Sitting on the intersection with N Winthrop Avenue, the project will replace a vacant lot next to the CTA tracks. The team at Panoptic Group is leading the efforts for the development with local firm Hanna Architects serving as the designers.
Demolition is underway on an L-shaped school building at 1310 South Ashland Avenue on the city’s Near West Side. The former home of Moses Montefiore School until 2016, and later Urban Prairie Waldorf School until its closing in June, the one- and two-story buildings are being cleared away to create space for a new residential development. The demo permit for the school was issued on August 21, with Heneghan Wrecking carrying out demo work.
