The Chicago City Council recently approved a rezoning bid for a new low-rise building to be located at 151 N Michigan Avenue in the Loop. The structure is located on a small site overlooking Millennium Park, at the intersection of W Randolph Street and N Michigan Avenue. BJB Partners are developing this new building that will replace a vacant lot, formerly occupied by a restaurant.
On Friday, a demolition permit was issued for a two-story multi-unit residence with a detached garage located at 3849 N Damen Avenue in the North Center neighborhood. The permit’s owners have been listed as 3851 N Damen LLC.
Facade installation has begun for 808 N Cleveland Avenue, a 23-story mixed-use tower nearing its full height in Near North Side. A notable addition to Chicago Avenue’s recent canyon-ization, the 284-foot-tall tower is being developed by DAC Developments and will provide 7,500 square feet of retail, 20,000 square feet of leasable offices, and 200 for-rent apartments. The new structure is replacing a previously overgrown lot situated on a trapezoidal parcel.
The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning bid for the upcoming development at 5050 S Prairie Avenue in Grand Boulevard. As previously reported, the site is located at the corner of S Prairie Avenue and E 51st Street, and the project is made up of multiple lots, both privately-owned lots and city-owned along 5036-5044 S Prairie Avenue. The development is led by KLY Development. This project will replace vacant land as well as an unused building near the intersection.
A permit was issued last week for the interior renovation of existing office space on located at 448 N La Salle Drive in the River North. The permit is for an interior build-out of 15,087 square feet of useable space on the eighth floor of a 13-story building. The permit owner is listed as 448 N La Salle LLC and is marked as owner-occupied.
