Groundbreaking Held For Movie Studio In South Shore

A groundbreaking has been held for the upcoming movie studio at 7700 S Stony Island Avenue in South Shore. Located on a triangular site on the intersection with E 77th Street, the new facilities dubbed the ‘Regal Mile Studios’ will replace predominantly vacant lots along with two small commercial buildings. Developer ID8 Ventures is made up of various key players including Derek Dudley who produces ‘The Chi’ along with Loop Capital, the team has been working with local architecture firm Bauer Latoza Studio on its design.

New Details Revealed For Community Garden At Muddy Waters Museum In North Kenwood

New details have been revealed for a new small garden as a part of the Muddy Waters museum at 4337 S Lake Park Avenue in North Kenwood. Located just south of the intersection with E 43rd Street, the garden will replace a vacant lot adjacent to the now landmarked once-home of the famed musician. The MOJO, or Muddy waters Original Jam Out Museum and its founder Chandra Cooper partnered with local architecture firm BauerLatoza Studio on the design which was recently presented at a neighborhood meeting.

The Chicago City Council has approved the redevelopment project at 5200 W Chicago Avenue in Austin. Several key approvals have passed for 5200 W Chicago Avenue in Austin, where Heartland Housing Alliance and Oak Park Regional Housing Center have planned a major mixed-use redevelopment around the former Laramie State Bank. The Community Development Commission has approved the sale of 5206 W Chicago Avenue, while the Chicago Plan Commission has approved both the rezoning for the project and its Planned Development application.
