This four-story structure will feature a basement and a ground-floor retail space with an attached two-car garage. Above this retail space, three residential units will be provided. Additionally, the design will include three rear metal balconies, two rooftop stairway enclosures, a front metal entry ramp, and rear concrete steps with an additional parking stall accessible from the alley.

Construction Kicks Off On The Danish Home of Chicago

Construction has commenced on an expansion for The Danish Home of Chicago at 5656 N Newcastle Avenue in Old Norwood Park. Located on the intersection with N Newcastle Avenue within the residential area, the added space will sit on some of the green space of the site. The project is being developed by The Danish Home Foundation with local architecture firm HED serving as the designers.

Three-Story Redevelopment at 935 W Webster Avenue is Now Topped Out in Lincoln Park

A three story construction project at 935 W Webster Avenue in Lincoln Park has now topped out. Mavrek Development is overseeing this mixed-use redevelopment, which builds upon the existing one-story structure that was once home to the State restaurant. The redesigned building will incorporate four new apartment units above retail space on the first floor.

CZ Biohub Chicago In Fulton Market To Open This January

The upcoming Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Chicago will open in January at 400 N Aberdeen Street in Fulton Market. Located on the corner of N Ogden Avenue within the West End on Fulton building, the new hub was announced earlier this year from a multi-city competition. Dubbed CZ Biohub Chicago, it’s being funded and built by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative which was founded in 2015 by Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg.

City Council Approves 370-401 N Morgan Street In West Loop

The Chicago City Council has approved the mixed-use development at 370-401 N Morgan Street in the West Loop. centered around the intersection with W Kinzie Street, the three-tower proposal will replace a handful of existing buildings near the railroad tracks. Developer Vista Property is moving forward with gathering all necessary approvals for the Gensler-designed project which received Plan Commission approval earlier this year.

A Final Look at “Sheffield of Lincoln Park” Residential Development

Construction is complete for the six-story residential building at 2700 North Sheffield Avenue in Lincoln Park. Named “Sheffield of Lincoln Park,” this project is a part of a redevelopment initiative by Pihrl and the Chicago Housing Authority for the Edith Spurlock Apartment complex. The two original buildings of this complex were built in the 1960s. The new building, replacing a parking lot between the existing structures, rises to 85 feet and offers 80 apartments, bringing the complex’s total units to 485.
