A full build out permit has been issued for the mixed-use affordable housing development at 2909 W Irving Park Road in Irving Park. Located mid-block between N Richmond Street and N Francisco Avenue, the new structure would replace a vacant lot along the busy corridor. A residential development fronting Hastings Street, 13th Street, and Ashland Avenue on the Near West Side is progressing toward a partial opening next month. Three-story, six-unit buildings, all 10 of which were permitted back in August of last year, face south and north in the two-rowed complex. They’ll be the first homes ready, with June 1 announced as the initial move-in date.
A four-unit residential development is on the way to 2435 West Fargo Avenue in the far north side’s West Ridge neighborhood. An application was filed for a four-story building on March 19th, and it was issued on March 31st, less than two weeks later. That permit indicates a reported construction cost of $750,000.
Initial details have been revealed for the residential conversion of 4545 N Ravenswood Avenue in Ravenswood. Sitting just south of the intersection with W Wilson Avenue, the existing building faces the Metra tracks and most recently held a fitness center and software company as its tenants. However, as commercial demand wanes, residential increases.
The foundation has been poured for a new addition next to the residential building at 3839 North Clark Street in Wrigleyville. A demolition permit was issued for a multi-unit structure next door at 3837 North Clark back in January. Demolition hadn’t begun as of a February 6 visit to the site, but another trip there on March 25 showed the home gone, and most of the new foundation excavated.
