Chicago Fire Announce New Training Facility In Near West Side

Initial plans have been revealed for a new training facility for the Chicago Fire Football Club near 1459 W Roosevelt Road in the Near West Side. The project would replace a majority of the northern half of Addams/Medill Park bound by W Roosevelt Road, S Loomis Street, W 14th Street, and S Ashland Avenue. The project is being led by Chicago Fire owner Joe Mansueto after failing a first attempt to locate the facility in Belmont Cragin which would have employed 220 people a day. At the moment the design architect has not been revealed.

Winning Proposal Selected For RFP At 5021 S Wabash Avenue In Grand Boulevard

Plans have been revealed for the redevelopment of an existing building at 5021 S Wabash Avenue in Grand Boulevard. Located just north of E 51st Street, the project site includes a large empty lot along with the aforementioned small structure. The project comes as the answer to a 2021 RFP by the city to help bolster the commercial presence near and on 51st, the winning entry dubbed ‘Soul City Kitchens’ is being led by Urban Equities with local design firm SmithGroup re-imagining the lot.

New Permit Issued for 1515 W 18th Street in Lower West Side

A permit was issued yesterday for a four-story mixed-use building located at 1515 W 18th Street in the Lower West Side neighborhood. The permit owner is listed as Michael Fox and plans indicate that the ground floor will be used as a commercial space. The remaining floors will be residential and should result in three total dwelling units. The building is equipped with a basement and an enclosed rooftop deck. The planned structure will fill an empty lot.
