A fourth six-unit condominium building has been permitted for construction on the former Twisted Hippo grounds in Irving Park. On March 6, 4353 North Richmond Street got permission to extend the group of homes closer to the corner of Richmond and Montrose Avenue, adding to the three buildings already in progress. Vivi Development is the developer and general contractor.
Further details have been revealed for the mixed-use mega development of Ivanhoe Village in Mundelein. Located at roughly 6000 W IL Route 60, the project will be the state’s first Urbanistic Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND). It is being brought forward by The Wirtz Corporation, owned by the same family who owns the Blackhawks and is behind The 1901 Project.
The City of Chicago has issued a permit for a Liebherr 316 EC-H 12 Litronic tower crane for the continued construction at 1630 South Wabash Avenue in the South Loop. CMK Properties has three apartment projects in the works on a two-block segment of Wabash, and it looks like 1630 will be the next one to restart. The permit became reality yesterday, March 7.
A three-flat has been permitted for construction next to the Armitage Brown/Purple Line elevated platform in Lincoln Park. The permit is for 2014 North Bissell Street; it was issued on March 5 after the application was submitted on November 9, 2023. It calls for a three-story with basement, three-unit building with a rooftop deck and rear balconies on all three floors. There will be three parking spaces located in the lower level. Construction costs are estimated at $1.189 million.
Further details and an updated timeline have been revealed for the upcoming mixed-use development at 121 W Michigan Boulevard in Michigan City, Indiana. The 32,000-person city is located around 60 miles from The Loop, but is accessible via the South Shore Line and sits just over the boundary of the greater metropolitan area.
