The mixed-use development at 2328 S Michigan Avenue in Motor Row is set to be reviewed at this month’s Plan Commission meeting. Sitting near the intersection with E 23rd Street, the project will replace a former Burger King and bring much needed life to the neighborhood. It will be presented by its developer Fern Hill and local architecture firm Eckenhoff Saunders.
With construction permits in hand, site preparation has begun for the first phase of Evergreen Garden, a six-story condominium development at 2128 S Tan Court in Chinatown. The former grass field under the CTA Orange Line tracks has been scraped of greenery in anticipation of general contractor MPI Contracting getting started on the project.
A permit has been issued for renovation work at the three-story, four-unit brick building located at 4201 West Crystal Street in West Humboldt Park. The permit was issued on June 5 after a standard plan review that began on November 20, 2023.
Details have been revealed for a new mixed-use development at 5830 N Broadway in Edgewater. Located just north of the intersection with W Victoria Street, the new structure will replace an existing auto lot near the CTA Red Line Thorndale station. The property is being developed by a local resident of Edgewater Glen, who has worked on various nearby projects.
A 42-unit residential building is progressing at 5151 N Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Square. The five-story development replaces a one-story building at 5151 and a two-story structure at 5153 N Lincoln Avenue. Both were permitted for demolition August 16, 2022.
