A tower crane permit has been issued for a new 18-story mixed-use building at 1044 W Van Buren Street in West Loop. Developed by Tandem, the building will yield 2,800 square feet of ground-level retail, 196 rental apartments, 70 on-site parking spaces, and 143 bike spaces.
The Chicago City Council has approved a new wellness center at 2933 W Division Street in Humboldt Park. Located on the intersection with N Richmond Street and across the street from the neighborhood’s namesake park, the new facility will replace an empty lot and three-story residential building while utilizing the existing adjacent parking lot. Developer Humboldt Park Health recently received approval from the Chicago Plan Commission on the JGMA-designed structure.
A permit was issued last week for a three-story residential building with a masonry facade at 3014 W Lyndale Street in the Logan Square neighborhood. The proposed project’s owner is listed as Volo Holdings LLC. The permit details that there will be three dwelling units, a basement, rear porches, and a detached three-car garage. Both structures will feature their own rooftop decks. The construction will replace an existing building.
Caisson work has begun for the new Howard Brown Health Clinic at 3501 N Halsted Street in Lake View East. The five-story development will replace a former low rise retail building at the corner of Halsted & Cornelia.
The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning for a mixed-use development at 747 W 79th Street in Auburn Gresham. Located on the southeast corner with S Halsted Street, the new project replaces a vacant lot in an active retail corridor surrounded by various food shops and local businesses. As a part of the city’s popular Invest South/West initiative, developer Evergreen Imagine LLC is working with Ross Barney and Nia Architects on the design.
