With Caissons Done, Halsted Pointe Moves On To Foundation Work

Now that caissons have been drilled and filled, the foundation phase of construction is underway for the first Halsted Pointe residential tower at 931 North Halsted Street on Goose Island. A team of excavators are active on the site, and their progress shows straight, precise edges, some with steel sheets driven into the ground. As they dig, haulers are utilizing a new ramp built into the south end of the site accessed from Halsted Street adjacent to North Branch Street.

Halsted Pointe Begins Construction On Goose Island

Construction has kicked off for the first tower of Halsted Pointe at 931 North Halsted Street on Goose Island. Sitting on the southeastern tip of the island, Halsted Pointe is replacing the now-demolished Greyhound bus facility just across the river from the upcoming Bally’s Casino. Canadian developer Onni has been working on the proposal for a few years now.

Initial Funding Secured For First Phase Of Halsted Pointe On Goose Island

Partial financing has been secured for the first tower of the Halsted Pointe development at 901 N Halsted Street on Goose Island. Located on the southern tip of the island, the mixed-use project replaces the Greyhound Bus facility with permits being applied for late last year with the city. Canadian-based developer Onni Group is not only behind this project but also Halsted Landing right across the river.
