The permit’s application start date is February 27, coming through with a reported cost of $400,000 101 days later. Developer TechCo Savvy Inc. will perform their own general contracting duties.
An opening has been held for the new community hub Sankofa Village Wellness Center at 4301 West Madison Street in West Garfield Park. Sitting on the corner with South Kildare Avenue, the brand-new building replaces a long-term vacant lot just blocks from the area’s namesake park. The ribbon cutting marks an end to the years-long development of the project which broke ground in 2024.

Corinth Temple Church of God, together with United For Better Living, applied for a permit to build C.A.R.E. Manor back in March 2024; it came through on November 13 with a reported cost of $15 million.
The City of Chicago has issued a pair of demolition permits that will lead to renovations for the MAAFA Redemption Project in West Garfield Park. The two properties to be razed bookend a church building at 4241 West Washington Boulevard, which will be transformed into the MAAFA Center for Arts & Activism, or The MAC Center.
The Chicago Department of Planning and Development has selected the winning proposal for their West Garfield Park RFQ at 3811 W Madison Street. YIMBY originally covered the two finalists late last year, with the team now picking the winning proposal dubbed Westgate with some minor changes.
