A renovation project is underway at 4525 West Gladys Avenue in West Garfield Park. Approved on February 8, the project involves a comprehensive interior remodel of the two-story residential building. The total budget is estimated to be $150,000.
Plans outline the replacement of the existing roof to ensure safety and durability, along with repairs to the front concrete stairs and rear concrete pad. Architect Ghulam Kamal is in charge of the renovation’s design. Remodeling Chicago LLC will lead general and masonry contracting work.
4525 West Gladys Avenue is located steps from stops for the 7 and 128 bus lines, and is a slightly farther walk from stops for the 54 and 392 bus lines. Beyond that, the Cicero CTA Station, which services the Blue Line, is a 15 minute walk to the south-west of the property.

Streetview shows a dumpster in front of the building in 2022 (which looks uninhabitable at the time). I wonder what the story here is? It’s great to see this property restored!
