  1. They’ll also be only a few blocks away from the proposed Red Line infill station at The 78.

  2. All of these got approved with the zoning appropriate amount of parking and then quietly got variances after the fact with no word or push back from our esteemed alderman on the take Pat Dowell. They also murdered every tree on that block.

    • The three major locations between 16th and 18th along the west side of Wabash that are now construction zones is private development which did not require city assistance (zoning, land or money) . New residential towers and commercial spaces, previously presented at a town hall meeting, will be built at these sites as the article points out. A number of trees were removed to accommodate the developments which will have new curb cuts for garage ingress/egress and new sidewalks as there is no alley access. The developer is required to plant new trees along Wabash and at the rear of the new buildings as specified in the approved plans and permits.  There are still a number of mature trees along the west side of Wabash so every tree was not “murdered.”

Comments about me being on the take are ridiculous and without merit.

  3. Great two buildings on the same block both with fewer parking spaces than units… where are we supposed to park… oh well.

  4. Pat Dowell on some Yimby vibe, lol!
