The City of Chicago has issued a construction permit for a new mixed-use building located at 3122 S Morgan Street in Bridgeport. The permit, granted to owner Martin Zhao, authorizes the establishment of a three-story masonry structure, which will house one commercial unit and two residential units, in addition to a trash enclosure.
Edward Yung, an architect operating out of Inverness, IL, is responsible for the design of the project. Chicago-based Jian Xin Construction LLC is the general contractor for the development.
The project, when completed, will be approximately a seven-minute walk from the Halsted & 31st Street stop for Route 8, and approximately a 20-minute walk from the Halsted station stop for the Orange Line. That station also contains bus stops for Routes 62, 44, and 8.
The projected budget for the development is set at $400,000, with incurred permit fees totaling $3,645. These fees encompass all requisite building, zoning, and associated costs.
