Facade installation at “Cassidy on Canal,” a 33-story mixed-use development in Fulton River District, is nearing completion at 350 N Canal Street. A joint project by The Habitat Company and Diversified Real Estate Capital LLC, the 355-foot-tall structure officially topped out last month.
The new construction will yield 1,300 square feet of retail space and 343 apartments, including studios and two-bedroom units, some with private balconies. Amenities include a pool deck, spa, fitness and recreation rooms, a conference center, and a fifth-level pet walk area. Parking facilities will encompass a 123-vehicle garage, specific bicycle storage, and 185 ground-level bicycle spaces.
The high-rise will stand out from the surrounding office towers with its hexagonal footprint and varied cladding materials. Solomon Cordwell Buenz’s design incorporates floor-to-ceiling windows, bronze metal cladding, brick, and other metallic finishes. The new structure will pay homage to the demolished Cassidy Tire Building, incorporating some of the preserved bricks into the interior.
The site offers several means of nearby public transportation, including CTA bus service for Routes 12, 37, 56, and 65, and the nearby Clinton station with Green and Pink Line service. The closest service for the Metra and Amtrak can be found via Ogilvie Transportation Center, an 11-minute walk south.
McHugh Construction commenced work last fall, and the exterior’s glass and metal enclosure is on track for year-end completion. The first 20 floors will open in February 2024, followed by the remaining floors in the spring. With a total investment of $139 million, the project is expected to be fully complete by summer 2024.

Honestly a top 5 building UC in the city right now for residential.
Definitely agree. Parking is a little on the high side for being practically in/near downtown, but overall its a nice design for the area!
Not enough parking spots for all the Hyundia’s and Kia’s in the city.
I hated the renderings but in petal its actually pretty nice.
