A construction permit has been granted for a new residential development located at 2129 W Crystal Street in Wicker Park. The project will feature a three-story, six-dwelling unit VA frame building with a basement, first-floor rear deck, private roof deck, stair access principal building, and detached six-vehicle garage with a roof deck, rear wood fences, and front iron fences.
The listed owner of the project is 2127-29 W Crystal LLC. The masonry Peoples Baptist Church located on the project site as 2127 W Crystal Street was submitted for demolition late last year but received a 90-day hold period. However, there have been no demolition permits issued for the site.
The architect of record for the project is Christopher G. Boehm of 360 Design Studio, with design details such as a VA frame structure based on the submitted filing.
Nearby transit includes bus service for Route 70 at both Division & Leavitt and Division & Hoyne, each a two-minute walk from the site. Route 50 service is accessible at Damen & Division via a five-minute walk southeast. For CTA trains, the Blue Line at Damen station is a 12-minute walk northeast, and the Blue Line at Division station is a 16-minute walk east.
The general contractor for the project is V & M Development, Inc., with a reported construction cost of $1,588,000. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
