Further Details Revealed For Next Phase Of Lincoln Yards

Further details and initial floor plans have been revealed for the next phase of Lincoln Yards near Goose Island. Building upon the initial information we covered this past December, developer Sterling Bay brought forward another informational presentation to the Chicago Plan Commission as it does not need any further approval. Designed by local firms Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture and Gensler along with Hoerr Schauft and Site Design Group on the landscape team, the project is expected to be completed in 2025.

City Announces Winners Of Chicago Works Community Challenge

The City of Chicago has announced the first seven winners of the first round of the Chicago Works Community Challenge across the city. In a press event at Rainbow Beach Park led by Mayor Lori Lightfoot, the winners of a combined $1.5 million grant were declared part of the larger $10 million initiative which began in 2021 and garnered roughly 500 submissions from locals across the seven target regions.

Details Revealed For Altenheim Line Trail On The West Side

Initial details for the framework of a new elevated trail on the west side spanning Homan Square and North Lawndale have been reviewed by the Committee on Design. In what is a first for the committee, the plan for the ‘Altenheim Line’ was presented by the Department of Planning and Development who is working with the Chicago Department of Transportation and Department of Housing, along with the design team consisting of SOM, HOOD Design Studio, and Latent Design.

Community Development Commission Approves Land Sale For Residential Development In Bronzeville

The Chicago Community Development Commission has approved the land sale for a new residential development at 539 and 541 E 46th Street in Bronzeville. Located just west of the intersection of 46th Street and S St. Lawrence Avenue, the homes will be replacing an empty lot near Armstrong Park. Local developer R&D Builders LLC will also serve as the architect for the buildings as they work on building up the area.

Further Details Revealed For United Yards Development In Back Of The Yards

Updated plans have been revealed for a mixed-use development along 47th Street in Back Of The Yards. The expanded design was recently reviewed by the Committee on Design and builds upon the original RFP submission for the area’s Invest South/West land. Located across five parcels centered on the corner with S Ashland Avenue, the project is being led by developers Celadon Partners and Blackwood Group, LLC with local firm DesignBridge serving as the architects.
