Initial Funding Announced For 835 W Addison Street In Lakeview East

Initial funding has been announced for the mixed-use development at 835 W Addison Street in Lakeview East. Sitting near the intersection with N Halsted Street, it is across the street from the local Chicago Police Department station which is currently housing a large number of migrants. The project is being led by the Lakeview Lutheran Church and the Over The Rainbow Association, with architecture firm Weese Langley Weese working on its design.

LOT Polish Lounge Announced At O’Hare International Airport

A new major lounge has been revealed for the new Terminal 5 expansion at O’Hare International Airport. The lounge will be for LOT Polish Airlines, the national carrier of Poland who flies multiple times a day to Chicago. The space will bring additional amenities to the terminal and is being designed by an undisclosed local-architecture firm according to the airline’s press release.

Revised Plans Revealed For Dinkel’s Bakery Redevelopment

Revised plans have been revealed for mixed-use development at 3327 N Lincoln Avenue in Lake View. Sitting on a wedge-shaped lot with N Marshfield Avenue running along the rear, the new building will replace a handful of existing structures including the home of Dinkel’s Bakery. Developer PCR Group has been working with Jonathan Splitt Architects on the design while pursuing a rezoning of the site.

Illinois Tech Announced As Major Tenant At Fulton Labs

A new major lease has been announced for Fulton Labs at 400 N Aberdeen Street in Fulton Market. Sitting on the corner with N Ogden Avenue on the northern end of the neighborhood, the space will be utilized by the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) as part of a greater life sciences push in the city. The university itself is leading the efforts for their first off-campus research venture, designed by Perkins & Will.

Permit Application Submitted For 566 W Van Buren Street In West Loop Gate

Construction permits have been applied for with the city for the mixed-use development at 566 W Van Buren Street in West Loop Gate. Sitting on the corner with S Jefferson Street, the project was first announced last year when it received permits for and proceeded with the demolition of two building’s on the site. The Antunovich Associates-designed structure is being proposed by a team made up of Riverside Investment and Blue Star Properties.

Department Of Water Management Announces Funding For Lead Pipe Replacement

The City of Chicago has announced a new loan from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the replacement of lead pipes across the city. The loan is a continuation of an ongoing effort to replace a majority of the city’s pipes built before 1986, which have a high likelihood of being lead within smaller buildings. The work will be led by the Department of Water Management with the loan being finalized this past Friday.

New Renderings Revealed For Ramova Theater Redevelopment

New renderings and details have been revealed for the nearly complete redevelopment of the Ramova Theater at 3518 S Halsted Street in Bridgeport. Located just south of the intersection with W 35th Street, plans for its remodel have been in the works for over four years and broke ground back in 2021. The development is being led by Baum Revisions, who is also working on the Congress Theater, and Our Revival Chicago.

Pizza Lobo Announced For Fulton Market Redevelopment

A tenant has been announced for the upcoming redevelopment of the property at 165 N Morgan Street in Fulton Market. Located just south of the intersection with W Lake Street, the existing structure was once the home of Tenzing Wines. The project is being led by Fulton Street Companies and Fred Latsko of Latsko Interest, with local-firm Hartshorne Plunkard Architects working on its design.

167 N Racine Avenue Proceeds With Rezoning In West Loop

The mixed-use development at 167 N Racine Avenue in the West Loop is officially moving forward as the developers have filed a zoning application. Located between W Randolph Street to the south and W Lake Street to the north, the proposal includes two existing buildings and was announced earlier this year. The project itself is being led by two brothers under the name 167 Racine LLC, with SPACE Architects + Planners serving as the designers.

Initial Details Revealed For Mixed-Use Development In Bronzeville

Initial details have been revealed for a mixed-use development at 4547 S State Street in Bronzeville. Located just north of the intersection with E 46th Street, the new building will replace two vacant lots near the Green Line at 43rd Street station. The project is being developed by Steele Consulting Group with Guider Group LLC serving as the architects.
