Permits Issued For New Residential Development in Bronzeville

Permits have been approved for the mixed-use development at 535 E 47th Street in Bronzeville. News first broke on the proposal located on the corner with S St Lawrence Avenue in April of this year, the multi-phase project will replace a vacant lot near the CTA Green Line at 47th station in the growing neighborhood. Developer Bronzeville Corridor LLC is leading the project and working with local firm SGW Architecture & Design.

Updated Plans Revealed For Werner Storage Building Development In Rogers Park

Updated plans have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 7603 N Paulina Street in Rogers Park. Located on the northeast corner with W Howard Street just north of the CTA Red Line Howard stop, the project was originally announced in 2022 with two phases involving the demolition of the Werner Bros storage building. Now Housing For All LLC is back with a revised proposal for the affordable housing project designed by Cordogan Clark & Associates.

Zoning Application Submitted for 420 N May Street in Fulton Market

A zoning application has been submitted for the mixed-use skyscraper at 420 N May Street in the West Loop. Located on the northwestern corner with W Kinzie Street directly across the street from the recently completed Fulton Labs, the tower would become the tallest building west of the Loop adding a new peak to the skyline. Plans were originally revealed late last year by Miami-based developer Crescent Heights, who also built NEMA in the South Loop, and is working with local-architecture firm HPA.

Construction Nears Completion For Field Studios In Avondale

Construction nears completion for the new film studios within the Marshall Field’s warehouse complex at 4000 W Diversey Avenue in Avondale. Located on the corner with N Pulaski Road on the southern edge of the neighborhood, the studios will complete the property’s redevelopment and expansion after being closed by Macy’s in 2008. Now developer Knickpoint Ventures has held a topping-off ceremony for the new addition which will open as the city’s first purpose built studio.

Plan Commission Approves Affordable Housing Development In South Loop

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a new affordable housing development at 1801 S Wabash Avenue and 1800 S Michigan Avenue in the South Loop. The two-lot proposal spans the whole block of E 18th Street and is made up of one existing structure on Wabash Avenue, and a surface parking lot on Michigan Avenue. National non-profit Mercy Housing is working with Nia Architects working on the project which was updated earlier this year when it secured funding.
