Plan Commission Approves 357 Green In West Loop

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development at 357 N Green Street in the West Loop. Bound by an elevated N Halsted Street to the east and a lower W Kinzie Street to the north, the proposed building merges the two heights with a cut-through plaza giving users access from both sides. The project is being led by Canadian-based Onni Group who is also behind Halsted Pointe on Goose Island, with architecture-firm SCB creating the design.

Land Sale Approved For Wellness Center In West Garfield Park

The Chicago Community Development Commission has approved the land-sale for The Sankofa Village Wellness Center at 4301-4329 W Madison Street in West Garfield Park. Located on the southwestern corner with S Kildare Avenue a few blocks west of Garfield Park itself, the proposal will replace a vacant lot and a handful of existing buildings as well. Developer The Community Builders Inc. proposed the greater Sankofa Wellness Village project last year designed by local-firm Moody Nolan.

Updated Details Revealed For 370-401 N Morgan Street In West Loop

Updated renderings and details have been revealed for the multi-site mixed-use development at 370-401 N Morgan Street in the West Loop. Centered on the intersection with W Kinzie Street and eventually occupying the both lots to the north and the southwest corner of the crossing, the proposal will be built in multiple phases as demand increases. Developer Vista Property recently reviewed the Gensler-designed proposal with the community after introducing it to the Committee on Design late last year.

Additional Funding Announced For Muddy Waters Museum In North Kenwood

New funding has been announced for the Muddy Waters MOJO Museum at 4337 S Lake Park Avenue in North Kenwood. Located near the intersection with E 43rd Street in the changing area, the Muddy Waters Original Jam Out Museum (MOJO) will restore the former home of the famed musician and the vacant lot adjacent to it. The project is being led by Muddy’s great granddaughter Chandra Cooper with local firm BauerLatoza working on its design.

Finalist Announced For Invest South/West Roseland RFQ

Five teams have been announced as finalists for the multi-site Invest South/West Roseland RFQ. Spread across three-sites along S Michigan Avenue from E 112th Street to the north to roughly E 115th Street to the south, these include a large lot adjacent to the future CTA Red Line station and the Roseland Theater. The RFQ was formally launched last year by the Department of Planning and Development with a different process similar to the recent East Garfield Park RFQ.
