Sterling Bay Reveals Renderings For Next Phase Of Lincoln Yards

Initial renderings have been revealed for the next phase of the Lincoln Yards mega-development near Goose Island. Developer Sterling Bay has revealed some of the first details for its next building and district for the area just north of The Ally, a life-sciences building which just broke ground marking the beginning of vertical construction of the project. Design firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill is behind the master planning of the Steelyard district with Gensler as the designer for the buildings including the new mid-rise at 1685 N Throop Street.

First Section Of Wild Mile Floating Park Opens In Goose Island

The first phase of the ambitious Wild Mile floating park has been completed behind the REI store at 905 W Eastman Street near Goose Island. The project has been a work in progress since 2003 with hopes to grow a total of 17 acres of floating amenities and nature sites. Started and led by the nonprofit group Urban Rivers, the master plan for the eco-park comes from the local office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill who began working with the group in 2016.

Developer Finishes Work On Office Development At 1334 N Kostner Avenue In Humboldt Park

Final touches begin to take shape on the first phase of a new office development at 1334 N Kostner Avenue in Humboldt Park. Dubbed The Terminal, the project is the redevelopment of the old Pyle National Company manufacturing plant which had sat mostly dormant for many years, and is now being developed by the IBT Group along with Chicago businessman Joe Mansueto. The design is being led by local firm RATIO Design along with one of the nation’s leading preservation specialists MacRostie Historic Advisors.

Metra To Break Ground On New Edgewater Station

Metra is set to break ground this week on the new Peterson Ridge station on its Union Pacific North Line in Edgewater. On Monday November 1st at 11am, Metra will hold its ground breaking ceremony for the station with various elected officials including 40th Ward Alderman Andre Vasquez and County Board President Toni Preckwinkle. The ceremony represents many years of planning and advocating for the station by locals, as well as the end of various delays including issues with groundwater runoff which began with a 2009 state bond program.

City Council Approves Rezoning For 160 N Morgan Street In West Loop

The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning of 160 N Morgan Street in West Loop. The approval clears the way for the bKL-designed structure to rise near the CTA Green Line Morgan stop, adjacent to the popular late-night spot Federales. Developer Sterling Bay continues to leave its mark across the once meat-packing neighborhood with the new mixed-use structure featuring ground-floor retail to complement the surrounding area.
