Updated plans have been revealed to the community for a new sporting facility within Addams/Medill Park at 1434 S Loomis Street in the Near West Side. The park which is roughly bound by W Roosevelt Road, S Loomis Street, W 14th Street, and S Ashland Avenue is near the growing Illinois Medical District and has been host to major music festivals in the past. The project is being developed by the Chicago Fire Football Club with Crawford Architects working on its revised design.

Initial plans have been revealed for a community garden at 2133-35 W Charleston Street in Bucktown. Located just east of the intersection with N Leavitt Street, the proposal will replace a now vacant lot which once held a century-old workers cottage that was torn down by the previous owner. Now a group of neighbors are hoping to strike a deal with the current developer who is willing to sell for the right plan. While the designer has not been disclosed, the community is moving towards their first community meeting soon.

The Chicago City Council has approved a zoning application for a residential development at 2236 W Cermak Avenue in Heart Of Chicago. Located just east of the intersection with S Oakley Avenue, the project will replace a vacant lot near the industrial area of the Chicago River’s southern branch. Developer 2236 Cermak LLC has partnered up with local design firm Hanna Architects who have worked on various other smaller residential buildings across the city.

Groundbreaking Ceremony Held For First Invest South/West Project In Auburn Gresham

A groundbreaking ceremony has been held for the mixed-use development at 757 and 838 W 79th Street in Auburn Gresham. The two-building project is located near the intersection with S Halsted Street and its construction is a major milestone as the first Invest South/West to come to fruition. Developers Evergreen Imagine were joined by the design team of Ross Barney Architects and Nia Architects along with other city representatives, including Mayor Lori Lightfoot, for the monumental moment.

Updated renderings have been revealed for the two-tower office development at 655 W Madison Street in West Loop Gate. Located just east of the Kennedy Expressway/I-90, the project plans to replace a large surface parking lot and joins various other proposals in the immediate area cashing in on their proximity to the Loop and West Loop. Chicago based developer the John Buck Company, who has managed the Willis tower in its past, is teaming up with local architecture firms HOK and JGMA on the design of the structure.
