City Council Approves Residential Development In Old Town

The Chicago City Council has approved the residential development at 1453 N Sedgwick Avenue in Old Town. Located south of the intersection with W North Avenue and near the Sedgwick CTA Brown Line station, the upcoming proposal replaces two two-flats built in 1883. The revised design was revealed in February of this year and is being led by the property owner Danny Xin under the name Sedgwick Properties, while the architect is currently unknown.

Winner Announced For Mixed-Use Woodlawn RFQ

A winner has been announced by the Chicago Department of Planning and Development for the Woodlawn RFQ at 935 E 63rd Street. Bound by S Ingleside Avenue on the west and S Greenwood Avenue to the east, the Request For Qualifications (RFQ) was issued last year with the finalist being revealed in February of this year. Woodlawn Social was chosen as the winning proposal led by a team made-up of Tandem Ventures, KMW Communities, and POAH with KoningEizenberg and HED Architects as the designers.

Bally’s Reveals Updated Renderings For Upcoming Casino

Updated renderings have been revealed for the upcoming Bally’s casino at 777 W Chicago Avenue in River West. Located on the corner with N Halsted Street and replacing the Chicago Tribune printing facility on the site, the casino has received a partial redesign which mainly changed the exterior but leaves the previously proposed interior the same. Rhode Island-based Bally’s is leading the charge for their new flagship property with multiple firms working on its design including SCB, Gensler, Site Design Group, Urbanworks, STL Architects, and NIA Architects among others.

City Council Approves Mixed-Use Development In Humboldt Park

The Chicago City Council has approved the mixed-use development at 3831 W Chicago Avenue in Humboldt Park. Located east of the intersection with N Pulaski Road near Orr Park, the upcoming project will replace a combination of empty lots and one-story commercial structures owned by the city and developer. 548 Capital is behind the proposal being designed by Lamar Johnson Collaborative, both of which have past experience with affordable housing and working with the city.

Two Revised Proposals To Be Considered For LaSalle Reimagined Initiative

The city has announced the reconsideration of two proposals for the LaSalle Reimagined initiative after altering their plans. Earlier this year three winners were announced for the program led by the Department of Planning and Development and the Department of Housing, aiming at tackling the record vacancy rates on the historical corridor while addressing the need for affordable housing. Joining 111 W Monroe Street, 135 S LaSalle Street, and 208 S LaSalle Street could be the following two revised proposals:
