Developer Sterling Bay has announced the sale of their property at 345 N Aberdeen Street in the West Loop. Bound by W Carroll Avenue to the south and rail tracks to the north, the site currently holds the Cougle Commission Company factory. The developer has brought on real estate company JLL to sell the property for them.
Initial neighborhood meetings have been held for the community spaces below the upcoming Red and Purple Line Modernization (RPM) across the north side. The project will run below and adjacent to the new track from W Lawrence Avenue in the south to W Ardmore Avenue in the north. Efforts are being led by the Chicago Transit Authority who brought on local firm Site Design Group to execute the work.
Renderings have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 370 N Carpenter Street in the West Loop. Developer Sterling Bay held a community meeting for the project earlier this week where we received a first look at what the finished product may look like. Sitting on the intersection with W Kinzie Street, the project replaces a small industrial building with a new tower designed by HPA.
Details have been revealed for a new training center at 7247 S Chicago Avenue in Greater Grand Crossing. Located on the intersection with E 73rd Street, the new tech workforce training center will remodel the existing one-story structure on the site. Dubbed ‘Xchange Chicago’ the project is being led by a team formed by the Comer Education Campus, we first covered the development in 2022 when it was a finalist for the Pritzker Foundation prize.
A construction timeline has been revealed for the upcoming redesign of the Logan Square traffic circle at the heart of the neighborhood. The major intersection made up of N Milwaukee Avenue, N Kedzie Boulevard, and W Logan Boulevard, will finally be rebuilt after years of delays and concerns from local neighbors over its safety. The project is being led by the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) along with IDOT and Capitol Cement Co.
