Proposals Revealed For West Garfield Park RFQ

Two proposals have been revealed by the Department of Planning and Development for their West Garfield Park RFQ at 3811 W Madison Street. Located on the corner with S Hamlin Boulevard and directly across the street from Garfield Park itself, the project will replace a vacant grocery store and its parking lot that were recently acquired by the city. Racine Blue Line station construction

Permits Issued For CTA Blue Line Racine Station Reconstruction

Initial permits have been issued and renderings revealed for the upcoming reconstruction of the CTA Blue Line Racine station at 418 S Racine Avenue in the Near West Side. The project is part of the first phase of the larger Blue Line reconstruction currently underway, replacing much of the existing tracks we see today. The work is being led by the CTA with local firm Ross Barney Architects working on its design.

Developer Unveils Plans for 420 N May Street to West Loop Neighbors

Updated plans have been revealed for the mixed-use skyscraper at 420 N May Street in the West Loop. Located on the northwest corner with W Kinzie Street, the proposal will replace a couple of existing structures and their adjacent parking lot. Miami-based developer Crescent Heights presented the HPA-designed plans to the community at a meeting earlier this week. The developer also recently placed the parcel earmarked for NEMA phase II in the South Loop for sale.

Plan Commission Approves Affordable Housing Development In Lower West Side

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the affordable housing development at 2136 S Ashland Avenue in the Lower West Side. Located just north of the intersection with W Cermak Road, we first covered the proposal in January which will be replacing a vacant lot across the street from Benito Juarez High School. Dubbed ‘Casa Yucatan’, the structure is being developed by The Resurrection Project who are working with local architecture firm DesignBridge on it.
