Updated Details Revealed For Twisted Hippo Replacement In Albany Park

Updated details have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 4343-4357 N Richmond Street in Irving Park. Located on the southeast corner with W Montrose Avenue a few blocks west from Horner Park, the multiple-building proposal replaces the previous Twisted Hippo structure which burned down in February 2022. Now developer Alan Candea is working with local firm Compass Architecture on their design after receiving community feedback on an earlier iteration.

City Council Approves 1016 W Jackson Boulevard In West Loop

The Chicago City Council has approved the mixed-use development at 1016 W Jackson Boulevard in the West Loop. Located on the intersection with S Morgan Street just southwest of Mary Bartelme Park, the new high-rise will replace a relatively young existing office building which was built 10-years ago. Now Mavrek Development is hoping to demolish the structure for the new BKV Group designed plan, with an additional lot across the alley for which no plans have been announced for.

Updated Plans Revealed For Mixed-Use Development At 4640 N Western Avenue In Lincoln Square

Updated plans have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 4640 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square. The nearly block-long site is bound by W Eastwood Avenue to the south and the CTA Brown Line tracks to the north, with the new proposal replacing four existing structures and a previously approved plan from 2021. Now the current owner and developer under the name 4640 Western LLC is working with local firm Hirsch MPG on the new design with increased density.

CTA Announces New Batch Of Stations To Receive Refresh In 2023

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) has announced a new batch of stations to receive minor renovation work across the city. As a part of the system’s ongoing Refresh & Renew initiative which started in 2019, the authority under current president Dorval R. Carter will embark on some much needed maintenance work across all lines except the Yellow or Skokie Swift portion. The program itself is part of the greater ‘Meeting the Moment’ Action Plan the system has enacted.
