The Committee on Zoning has approved the residential rezoning for an existing building at 4927 North Claremont Avenue in Lincoln Square. The vacant building, which used to be the Saint Matthias Parish Convent, will be rezoned from RS-3 Residential Single-Unit to B2-3 Neighborhood Mixed-Use District, with new interiors designed by Jonathan Splitt Architects. Updated renderings have been revealed for a hospital expansion at 900 W Nelson Street in Lake View East. Bound by W Barry Avenue to the north and W Nelson Street to the south, the development proposed a multi-level expansion to the existing facility at the Illinois Masonic Hospital designed by the local office of SmithGroup. The hospital, which has recently completed a new parking garage nearby at 3021 N Sheffield Avenue, looks to proceed with the first half of the third phase of their campus expansion.

Located on an unusually wide Chicago lot within a row of historical stone homes north of E 46th Street, the small project is being developed by Exbud LLC and designed by AP Architects. Initial plans have been revealed for a new mixed-use development at 1300 W Carroll Avenue in the West Loop. The site on the northwest corner with N Elizabeth Street was once home to the ADM flour mill which developer Sterling Bay recently demolished after acquiring it for $25 million in 2020. Working with designers SOM, the new design is an update from the conceptual placeholder we had seen previously as a part of the 1200 W Carroll development, and is nearby other major projects such as 400 N Elizabeth and the recently started 160 N Elizabeth.
