Bally’s Temporary Casino Moves Closer To Completion

An additional approval has been granted for Bally’s temporary casino within the Medinah Temple at 600 N Wabash Avenue in River North. In the works since Bally’s won the famed city casino bid last year, the temporary location has been quickly coming together in the last few months while awaiting a summer opening. The renovation of the historical structure is being led by Rhode-Island based Bally’s along with STL Architects and SOSH Architects working on its design.

Details Revealed For Fifth Third Arena Expansion in Near West Side

Potential details have been revealed for the full build-out of the Fifth Third Arena at 301 S Damen Avenue in the Near West Side. Located on the southeastern corner with W Jackson Boulevard and bound by the Eisenhower to the south, the multi-phase plan will eventually replace a vacant lot just west of the arena. The overall plan is being led and developed by the Chicago Blackhawks as they seek to begin with an arena expansion.

Plans Revealed For Mixed-Use Development In Near West Side

Initial details have been revealed for a new mixed-use development at 116-138 S Paulina Street in the Near West Side. Located on the northwest corner with W Adams Street and bound by the CTA Pink Line tracks to the west, the proposal will replace a vacant lot bound by a surface parking lot to the north. Now City Church Chicago is moving forward with plans for a multi-phase complex in the works for multiple years, though no architect has been mentioned.

Plan Commission Approves Tower At 1300 W Lake Street In West Loop

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development at 1300 W Lake Street in the West Loop. Located on the northwest corner with N Elizabeth Street in the growing west end of the neighborhood, the proposal was first revealed in March of this year before going in front of the Committee on Design. Now Loukas Development receives another approval for the slightly redesigned tower from bKL Architecture.

Initial Funding Announced For Potential Arts Center In Wicker Park

Initial funding has been announced for the potential redevelopment of the building at 1550 N Milwaukee Avenue in Wicker Park. Located just south of the six-corner intersection with N Damen Avenue and W North Avenue, the combined two-building site is currently home to the Lubinski Furniture store who also owns it. The redevelopment plans are being led by nonprofit arts group Equity Arts which seeks to create a permanent home for the local art scene that placed the neighborhood on the map.
