The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the affordable housing development at 2136 S Ashland Avenue in the Lower West Side. Located just north of the intersection with W Cermak Road, we first covered the proposal in January which will be replacing a vacant lot across the street from Benito Juarez High School. Dubbed ‘Casa Yucatan’, the structure is being developed by The Resurrection Project who are working with local architecture firm DesignBridge on it.

Construction Continues On 4735 N Western Avenue In Lincoln Square

Construction continues on the mixed-use redevelopment of 4735 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square. Located just north of the CTA Brown Line at Western station and near the intersection with W Lawrence Avenue, plans to renovate much of the building were revealed earlier this year along the changing corridor. Developer Rany Management is behind the project and worked with local firm Kennedy Mann Architects on its design.

Renderings Revealed For Logan Square Station Remodel

Initial renderings have been revealed for the remodel of the Logan Square CTA Blue Line station at 2620 N Milwaukee Avenue. Located on the intersection with N Kedzie Avenue across the street from the famed square, the multi-exit station is set to receive its first major renovation in its 50-year history. The project is being led by Chicago Transit Authority and the Chicago Department of Transportation who are working local-form Jacobs Engineering on its design.

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development at 370-401 N Morgan Street in the West Loop. The three-structure proposal will center around the intersection with W Kinzie Street and built in phases, replacing multiple existing buildings just north of the Google Midwest headquarters. Developer Vista Property is moving forward with gathering all necessary approvals for the Gensler-designed development.

Caisson Permits Issued For 438 W Saint James Place In Lincoln Park

Caisson permits have been issued for the residential development at 438 W Saint James Place in Lincoln Park. Located near the intersection with N Lakeview Avenue and replacing an existing two-flat, the project was originally proposed in mid-2022 and since then has gone through a major redesign. Developer St. James Interest, LLC is behind the project with local firm Hirsch MPG working on its current design.
