Plans have been approved for the residential development at 6521 S Blackstone Avenue in Woodlawn. Located on the northeast corner with E 65th Place, the new building will replace a vacant lot with its front facade facing south onto 65th. The Chicago Plan Commission approved the proposal’s Lakefront Protection Ordinance application submitted by developer DOM Acquisitions LLC, with Hanna Architects working on its design.

New plans have been revealed for the commercial development at 1010 W Madison Street in the West Loop. Located directly on the intersection with N Morgan Street, the proposal will replace a vacant parking lot previously earmarked for a residential building. Now the same developer, Fulton Street Companies, has changed directions from the SCB-designed mid-rise to a new short structure from Gensler.

Redevelopment Announced For Lourdes School In Uptown

Initial details have been revealed for the residential conversion of the Our Lady Lourdes School at 4641 N Ashland Avenue in Uptown. Located just south of the intersection with W Leland Avenue across the street from the namesake church, the project is the second for the previous church buildings. Developed by Honore Properties, the school served the local community for over 50-years before closing in 2004.

Initial Funding Approved For BandWith Chicago Redevelopment In East Garfield Park

Initial funding was approved for the new BandWith Chicago headquarters at 134 S California Avenue in East Garfield Park. Bound by W Wilcox Street to the north and W Adams Street to the south, the new center will redevelop an existing industrial building with a sawtooth roof. The project is being developed by the non-profit organization BandWith and is being designed by Lamar Johnson Collaborative.
