Further details and a timeline have been revealed for ‘Halsted Landing’ at 700 W Chicago Avenue in River West. Located along the river just north of the upcoming casino site, the three-phase development is being presented to the Plan Commission later this month. The development is being led by developer Onni Group who is also in charge of Halsted Pointe across the river.
Building permits have been issued for the residential development at 2128 S Tan Court in Chinatown. Dubbed ‘Evergreen Garden’, the project will replace the long-term vacant lot bound by the CTA Orange Line tracks on its northern end. The permit will allow for the construction of the first phase of the two-phase development, with initial piling permits having been granted earlier this year.
Two redevelopments have been announced along Milwaukee Avenue in Logan Square and Avondale. On the northern end is the redevelopment of the former Kay Shoes building at 2839 N Milwaukee Avenue. On the southern end, initial details were revealed for a potential redevelopment of the former Father & Son Restaurant at 2479 N Milwaukee Avenue.
A permit application has been submitted for the mixed-use tower at 1105 W Carroll Avenue in Fulton Market. The upcoming second tower of the recently announced Fulton Park Campus has been in the works for a few years on the intersection with N May Street. Like the other towers, it is being developed by Trammell Crow Company with ESG Architects working on its design.
A community meeting has been held for the revised plans of ‘Old Town Canvas’ at 1610 N LaSalle Drive in Old Town. The upcoming skyscraper has been the center of controversy lately with surrounding neighbors even forming a lobbying community group against the project. The efforts for the structure are being led by local developer Fern Hill who recently proposed another project in Motor Row.
