New Details Revealed For A Residential Development In Greater Grand Crossing

New details have been revealed for a residential development at 7237 S Vincennes Avenue in Greater Grand Crossing. Located just north of the intersection with W 73rd Street, the project will replace a large vacant lot owned by Anthony Casboni whose family has owned the land since 1939 and once operated a discount store on it. Casboni is working with co-developer Darryl Burton who will also act as the project manager, both will see through the first phase of the proposal before continuing with a second phase.

Two Historical Buildings Sold In River North

New information has been revealed on the sale of two historical structures at 29 E Ohio Street and 619 N Wabash Avenue in River North. Located on opposite corners of each other and across the street from the upcoming temporary Bally’s Casino, the buildings hold Chicago staples of Pizzeria Uno and Due. Previous CEO of the chain Aaron Spencer approved the sale of the buildings to the Texas-based investment firm Newport Global Advisors, who also fully purchased Uno’s in 2017.

Chicago Plan Commission Approves 2700 N Pine Grove Avenue in Lincoln Park

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a mixed-use development at 2700 N Pine Grove Avenue in Lincoln Park. Located near the intersection with W Wrightwood Avenue near the Elks National Memorial and Headquarters as well as Lincoln Park’s North Pond, the project will restore the existing domed church building on the site with a large addition built over its current surface parking lot. The developer is the church itself, the Second Church of Christ Scientist Chicago which has seen dwindling congregation numbers thus the decision to move forward with the addition designed by local design firm Booth Hansen Architects.

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a new residential development at 438 W Saint James Place in Lincoln Park. Located just west of the intersection with N Lakeview Avenue near Lincoln Park and the lake, the new project will replace an existing stone-clad two-flat and hug the adjacent 13-story mid-rise. The unique proposal come to us from developer St. James Interest, LLC and is one of the two developments presented for Lincoln Park this month, bringing more density to the neighborhood which has seen plenty of population growth without much housing built.

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development at 210 N Morgan Street in the West Loop. Located just north of the intersection with W Lake Street, near the CTA Green Line Morgan station, the project will replace a surface parking lot and one-story garage and shop building. Developer New Castle is working with local architecture firm Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture on the tiered building bringing more height to the ever-growing neighborhood.
