Zoning has been fully approved for the mixed-use development at 135 N Des Plaines Street in West Loop Gate. Located on the southeast corner with W Randolph Street just a block away from the highway, the upcoming proposal will replace a surface parking lot and its small footprint as the neighborhood continues to fill in long-term gaps. Developer Rogers Park Holdings LLC is working with local firm Axios Architects & Consultants on the small building which was announced earlier this year.

Ribbon Cutting Held For New Park District HQ In Brighton Park

A ribbon-cutting ceremony has been held for the new headquarters of the Chicago Park District and its adjoining park at 4830 S Western Avenue in Brighton Park. Bounded by W 48th Street to the north, the CTA Orange Line to the south, and S Rockwell Street to the west, the expansive multi-block site used to be vacant land after holding multiple manufacturing businesses before. Now the Park District will move its nearly 200 employees from its current offices at 541 N Fairbanks Court in Streeterville.

Financing Secured For Redevelopment Of Ludlow Building In Lincoln Park

Financing has been secured to complete the build out of the mixed-use redevelopment at 2032 N Clybourn Avenue in Lincoln Park. Located adjacent to future phases of Lincoln Yards which recently announced its next set of construction dates, the proposal will rehabilitate the existing Ludlow Typograph Building which was recently landmarked as well. Developer Annexation LLC purchased the structure for $15 million in 2021 and has been working with GREC Architects on its renovation.

Construction Continues On 1954 W North Avenue In Wicker Park

Construction continues on the mixed-use development at 1954-1956 W North Avenue in the heart of Wicker Park. Located at the heart of the neighborhood on the six-corner intersection with N Damen Avenue, the historical preservation and redevelopment will revitalize the corner structure which has sat vacant for many years now. The team at Ernst Development is working with local architecture firm Hirsch MPG on its design, which aims to bring back some of the building’s original details after buying it in 2021.

Divvy Announces Expansion Creating City-Wide Network

The Chicago Department of Transportation and Lyft have announced a major expansion for the city’s Divvy bike share system across multiple northwest and southwest neighborhoods. The expansion comes right after the system finished its latest round of work which included added stations, new e-bikes, and parking stations. However it comes at a time where bike-related deaths and accidents are on the rise with local advocates calling for improved infrastructure.
