City Council Approves Next Phase Of Parkside Of Old Town Development

The Chicago City Council has approved the next phase of the Parkside of Old Town development in the Near North Side. Coming soon after receiving its approval from the Plan Commission mid-December of 2022, with this the proposal has now cleared all the necessary city hurdles prior to commencing work. Developer Holsten Real Estate is working with the Chicago Housing Authority on the affordable project that is being designed by local firm Landon Bone Baker, who have also done some of the previous phases.

Plans Approved For 2222 S Michigan Avenue In Motor Row

The Chicago City Council has approved the mixed-use redevelopment of 2222 S Michigan Avenue in the Motor Row District. Located just south of the intersection with E Cermak Road, the development will renovate an existing slim building that runs the full-length of the block to S Wabash Avenue. The team behind the work is developer Hudson Michigan Avenue LLC who has tapped local design firm FitzGerald and RTM Engineering Consultants on the project which will be called Hudson Motor Row.

New Renderings Revealed For Soldier Field Revamp

Updated renderings and plans have been revealed for the redevelopment of Soldier Field in Museum Campus. Built in 1924, the famed structure is approaching its 100-year birthday on the cusp of another complete overhaul similar to the one it received in the early 2000s. The proposal has been in the works for a while now as the city tries to retain the Chicago Bears who are planning to move to Arlington Heights and create their own entertainment complex on the old racetrack grounds.

Updated Plans Revealed For 465 W Cermak Road In Chinatown

New details have been revealed for the mixed use redevelopment of 465 W Cermak Road in Chinatown. Located directly on the south branch of the Chicago River and on the intersection with S Canal Street, the multi-story structure has seen its fair share of redevelopment proposals in the last few years with none coming to fruition yet. Years after 465 W Cermak Road was proposed to be turned into residences, then into a hotel with a home furnishings store, now Aurora-based Windfall Group is set to try again with a change in plans as it now becomes known as Pacifica of Chicago.

Details Revealed For Mixed-Use Development In South Shore

Initial details have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 7162 S Exchange Avenue in South Shore. Located on the northeast corner of S Yates Boulevard and E 72nd Street, the new structure will replace a vacant lot that used to hold a supermarket which has since demolished near the South Shore Cultural Center. Model of Transformation Design and Development, a local newcomer, is developing the property dubbed ‘XChange’, although no architect was announced.
