The Chicago City Council has approved the residential development at 3731 N Sheffield Avenue in Wrigleyville. Located just north of the intersection with W Waveland Avenue and Wrigley Field itself, the proposal will replace an empty lot and incorporate the adjacent existing three-flat. Originally revealed in February, developer Mangan Builders is moving forward with the Jonathan Splitt Architects-designed structure.

Plan Commission Approves Parkway Residences In South Loop

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the residential development at 1225 S Indiana Avenue in the South Loop. Located on the northeast corner of the intersection with E 13th Street in the rear of One Museum Park, the proposal dubbed ‘Parkway Residences‘ will replace a long-time vacant lot marked for a low-density project. Developer Greif Properties is working with local firm 2RZ Architecture on the building and Blue Stem Design on its landscape.

New Transcontinental Rail Route Announced Through Chicago

Three of the largest rail providers in North America have announced a new partnership for service across Canada, The United States, and Mexico. The new partnership made up of Canada National (CN), Union Pacific Railroad (UP), and Grupo Mexico Transportes (GMXT) will become the second to ever serve the three countries and will use Chicago as its main interchange point.

Sale Announced For Downtown Greyhound Station

The main Chicago Greyhound bus station at 630 W Harrison Street in the Near West Side has been put up for sale for redevelopment. Located on the corner with S Jefferson Street near downtown, it is bound on the north and west sides by the newly redesigned circle interchange and is one of multiple Greyhound stops in the city. After switching hands a few times in the last years, the site has now been listed by Texas-based CBRE in a move that similarly led to the sale of the Greyhound facility where Halsted Pointe is set to rise.

Updated Groundbreaking Date Announced For Halsted Pointe On Goose Island

Updated construction dates have been announced for the first phase of the Halsted Pointe development at 901 N Halsted Street on Goose Island. Located on the island’s southern end near the future casino site, the multi-tower proposal will replace the existing Greyhound Bus facility. Canadian-based developer Onni Group is behind the project as well as the recently revised 357 N Green nearby, working with Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture on design and Hitchcock Design Group on the landscaping.
