Alderman Approves Zoning For 4701 N Clark Street In Uptown

The 46th Ward Alderman has announced his support for the rezoning of the residential development at 4701 N Clark Street in Uptown. Alderman James Cappleman released a press report backing the project, located just north of the intersection with W Leland Avenue. It will be replacing a one-story drive-thru bank that currently sits vacant, with developer Platinum Homes proposing the new multi-story building designed by 360 Design Studio across the street from Chase Park.

Updated Details Revealed For Fern Hill Development In Old Town

Updated details have been revealed for the upcoming multi-lot development in Old Town. Originally revealed in 2021 and made up of three distinct areas centered around the intersection between N LaSalle Street and W North Avenue, developer Fern Hill held a community meeting this past week to offer a further look into the updated plans. The team at Fern Hill has also tapped prolific architect David Adjaye and local firm GREC Architects to work on its design, though those have yet to be made public.

Land Purchase Made For 655 W Madison In West Loop Gate

A land purchase has been made for the mixed-use development at 655 W Madison Street in West Loop Gate. Located just east of the Kennedy Expressway/I-90 and replacing a surface parking lot, YIMBY last reported on the proposal in August 2022 as new renderings were released. We now know that developer John Buck Company has purchased the lot, closing a multi-year deal which depended on the city approving the HOK– and JGMA-designed plans for the site.

Final Proposals Revealed For DPD East Garfield Park RFQ

The Chicago Department of Planning and Development (DPD) has announced their three finalists for the East Garfield Park RFQ. Although the Request For Qualifications (RFQ) is made up of three sites, this first phase will focus on one site across the street from The Hatchery located at 3209 W Lake Street. Right on the intersection with N Kedzie Avenue, all proposals will defer the two remaining sites onto a future development phase.
