Plans for the Navy Pier Marina are set to move forward on the north side of the famed pier structure in Streeterville. Located at roughly 848 E Grand Avenue, the project has been in the works for years as part of the greater modernization efforts for the pier as it pivots for the next generation. Dubbed the Navy Pier Marina, the project is being led by NPM Ventures LLC and its founder Randy Podolsky.
Details have been revealed for a new veterans complex on the intersection of Illinois 76 and Orth Road in Timberlane. Located in the far suburbs just north of Belvidere, the one-of-a-kind facility will bring a new offering near the city boundaries of Rockford just to the west. The project is being developed by the non-profit organization Oscar Mike with Cushman & Wakefield, who have tapped Gensler to design the buildings.
Initial details have been revealed for a residential development at 5451 N Ravenswood Avenue in Edgewater. Located just south of the intersection with W Catalpa Avenue, the new proposal will replace a large vacant lot at the westernmost edge of the neighborhood. Developer Sigma Builders Inc. is working with local firm IURO & Associates on its design.
Initial funding has been announced for the mixed-use development at 835 W Addison Street in Lakeview East. Sitting near the intersection with N Halsted Street, it is across the street from the local Chicago Police Department station which is currently housing a large number of migrants. The project is being led by the Lakeview Lutheran Church and the Over The Rainbow Association, with architecture firm Weese Langley Weese working on its design.
A new major lounge has been revealed for the new Terminal 5 expansion at O’Hare International Airport. The lounge will be for LOT Polish Airlines, the national carrier of Poland who flies multiple times a day to Chicago. The space will bring additional amenities to the terminal and is being designed by an undisclosed local-architecture firm according to the airline’s press release.
