New renderings and details have been revealed for the upcoming mixed-use development at 370 N Morgan Street in Fulton Market. Part of a three-tower proposal along the intersection with W Kinzie Street, initial plans for the project were revealed in 2022 and we recently covered its approval process including building permits.
Zoning has been initially approved for the mixed-use developments at 3950 N Damen Avenue and 3959 N Lincoln Avenue in North Center. Earlier this year we covered the project’s revised details as it shed 40 units due to issues with the existing on-site bank, now the city’s Committee on Zoning has approved the new plans from developers Ravine Park Partners, Orchard Development, and Brinshore Development.
The Chicago Zoning Committee has approved the mixed-use development at 2600 N Clark Street in Lincoln Park. Sitting on the corner with W Wrightwood Avenue, the project is just down the street from the recently funded 537 W Drummond Place we covered last week. Efforts for this new structure are being led by Big Shoulder Development.
Multiple new retail experiences have been announced along Michigan Avenue as the strip sees an uptick in occupancy from its pandemic lows. Located across the famed shopping street, the new spots both replace vacant spaces and some soon-to-be closed stores. This comes as some major flagships like H&M relocate from their current home as well.
A major restoration effort has been completed along the border with Wisconsin at Illinois Beach State Park in Lake County. Announced in 2019 with work kicking off last year, the work helped restore part of the park’s 6.5 mile shoreline while protecting it from future erosion. The project was led by the state with SmithGroup working on its design and Michels Construction having executed the work.
