Partial funding has been announced for the affordable residential development at 5300 S Calumet Avenue in Washington Park. Located on the southwest corner of the intersection with E 53rd Street, the proposal will replace a long-time vacant lot. The efforts are being led by developers The Renaissance Collaborative (TRC) and Housing Opportunities & Maintenance for the Elderly (HOME).
Potential financing has been revealed for the Lincoln Yards megadevelopment near Goose Island. The money would come from Florida-based Kayne Anderson Real Estate who is exploring becoming the primary financial backer for the project according to Crain’s. The 53-acre development has stalled as the lending market has changed since its original announcement in 2018.

Located on the diagonal intersection with N Clark Street on the western edge of the neighborhood, the project will add on to the development called ‘The Mabel Exchange’. Efforts are being led by Ernst Development and Envoi Partners, with architecture-firm Hirsch MPG working on its design.

Located on the southwest corner with N Seeley Avenue, the proposal will replace a small commercial building and its front parking lot. Efforts are being led by Altitude Capital Partners, with local firm Jonathan Splitt Architects working on its design.
Plans have been revealed for a major remodel of the Cornell Square Park field house at 1809 W 50th Street in Back Of The Yards. Located on the southwest intersection with S Wood Street, the field house serves the small park. The work is being led by the Chicago Park District with the help of the local alderman who are working with an undisclosed architect while funding has been secured for the work.
