Pizza Lobo has been announced for the upcoming redevelopment of the property at 165 N Morgan Street in Fulton Market. Located just south of the intersection with W Lake Street, the existing structure was once the home of Tenzing Wines. The project is being led by Fulton Street Companies and Fred Latsko of Latsko Interest, with local-firm Hartshorne Plunkard Architects working on its design.

Sitting across from the recently completed The Dylan at 160 N Morgan, the 10,000 square-foot building has occupied the site for a few decades and features a rare rear outdoor space. Now it has been revealed that Heisler Hospitality will be occupying the whole space after recently signing the lease. The group runs Night & Weekends, Lone Wolf, and Estero FM nearby as well as Pizza Lobo which will open in the building next summer.

The brick clad-structure will be partially reconstructed, with its first floor receiving a new main entrance and glass storefront. The existing truck passageway to the rear loading yard will be converted into a walkway to a new patio, with the curb cut and dumpsters in the front being removed. The upstairs will also have its windows punched in for a small upstairs patio connected to a small dining room.

Visitors will have near direct access to the CTA Green and Pink Lines at the Morgan station which is a few feet away. According to the Fulton Street Cos website, the project’s equity partner is Huizenga Capital Management, with Skender serving as the general contractor. While a groundbreaking wasn’t announced, work should commence soon to meet the aforementioned opening date next year.

that back courtyard is gonna be rocking come warm weather, that is huge.

What is with the little door to the left, upstairs?

  2. I like how they mention the “dumpsters will be removed” but… to where? That stretch of Morgan is AWFUL for just being narrow sidewalks and everyones dumpsters that are somehow… allowed? It is literally the gateway to the neighborhood is basically an alleyway.
