Plan Commission Approves Rezoning Of 141 W Oak Street In The Near North Side

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the rezoning of an existing residential building at 141 W Oak Street in the Near North Side. Developer Morningside South Affordable LLC will lead the renovation of the existing structure now that rezoning has been approved. Bound by W Oak Street to the north, N LaSalle Drive to the east, and N Wells Street to the west, the white clad tower will see all of its existing units rehabbed in preparation of future leasing.

Sterling Bay Reveals Renderings For Next Phase Of Lincoln Yards

Initial renderings have been revealed for the next phase of the Lincoln Yards mega-development near Goose Island. Developer Sterling Bay has revealed some of the first details for its next building and district for the area just north of The Ally, a life-sciences building which just broke ground marking the beginning of vertical construction of the project. Design firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill is behind the master planning of the Steelyard district with Gensler as the designer for the buildings including the new mid-rise at 1685 N Throop Street.

Plan Commission Approves 2 New Developments, 3 Towers in West Loop

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved two projects bringing a total of three new towers to the ever-growing West Loop. Both projects have recently gone through design updates after receiving feedback from the Committee on Design and will now be able to move forward to the Chicago City Council for final approval. The projects consist of the two-tower project at 315 N May Street and 1112 W Carroll Avenue and the new life-science building at 400 N Elizabeth Street.
