Construction continues on the mixed-use redevelopment of 4715 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square. Sitting across the street from the CTA Brown Line Western stop in the heart of the neighborhood, the project replaced a long-term surface parking lot. Developer The Community Builders is behind the project with local firm DesignBridge on its design.
“Star Wars” creator George Lucas, have expanded his real estate portfolio with the purchase of a $11.2 million 66th-floor penthouse in Streeterville’s 800 N Michagan Avenue building from Citadel founder Ken Griffin. They plan to merge this penthouse with their existing 65th-floor condo, bought in 2015 for $18.75 million, to create a 16,000-square-foot duplex penthouse. The total cost for this project is estimated at $33.5 million, setting a new record for Chicago’s most expensive condo. Architect Scott Fortman of Gibbons, Fortman & Associates is overseeing the design, which includes adding two new interior staircases and upgrading electrical and mechanical systems as reported by the Chicago Tribune.
A zoning application has been submitted for the mixed-use development at 2035 W Irving Park Road in North Center. Replacing a small commercial building and adjacent parking lot, news on the project were revealed earlier this year. The application was submitted by developer Altitude Capital Partners as local firm Jonathan Splitt Architects works on its design.
LG Development is expanding its vision with a new proposal for two apartment towers in the Fulton Market District. The firm plans to construct a 25-story building with 287 units at 170 N May Street and a 38-story tower with 380 units at 175 N Racine Avenue. This revised proposal is an increase from their previously approved plan for a 29-story high-rise with 486 units as reported by therealdeal.com.
Updated details have been revealed for the residential development at 4531 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square. Located mid-block between W Wilson Avenue and W Sunnyside Avenue, the proposal will replace two-existing structures on the site. The project is being led by developer Western Front LLC with local-firm Hanna Architects on the design.
