A new renovation permit has been issued an existing three-story residential building located at 5231 S Indiana Avenue in Washington Park. The project, developed by 5231 33 Indiana LLC, will involve work within all 12 units and repairing the existing porch and facade. Also within the filing, Hemal Purohit of Purohit Architects Inc is the listed architect of record.
Funding has been partially approved for the mixed-use redevelopment of 2222 S Michigan Avenue within the Motor Row District. Located a few buildings south from the intersection with E Cermak Road, the project will restore the existing block-deep building while giving it a new program as the area near McCormick Place continues to see a rebound from 2020. Developer Hudson Michigan Avenue LLC is behind the proposal along with local-design firm FitzGerald.
Plans have been revealed for a new mixed-use development at 4655 N Broadway in Uptown. Located directly on the southeast corner with W Leland Avenue, the project joins a growing list of new proposals in the neighborhood as it continues to transform into a residential and entertainment hub for the city. Developer Wemi Properties LLC is working with local-firm Yu & Associates Collaborative on its design that restores the existing two-story commercial building on site.
Construction permits have been issued for the development of a new five-story residential building in Edgewater. The new building will be located at 6044 N Winthrop Avenue, replacing a former parking lot on the site. The project is being developed by North Park Ventures.

Located on the northwest corner with W Lake Street the proposal continues to grow the neighborhood’s skyline west and will replace an existing two-story commercial building and its adjoining parking lot. Developer Loukas Development is working with local design firms bKL Architecture, Confluence, and DLA Piper on the new high-rise to be presented in front of the Committee on Design next Wednesday.
