The Chicago City Council has approved financing for a mixed-use development at 1134 S Wood Street in the Illinois Medical District. Located on the northwest corner of W Roosevelt Road and S Wood Street, the project will replace an existing parking lot belonging to The Chicago Lighthouse who will operate the new facility. Chicago Lighthouse is partnering with Brinshore Development on the Landon Bone Baker Architects-designed structure which we last reported in late 2021.

Initial details have been revealed for a new residential development at 1026 W Jackson Boulevard in the West Loop. Located near the intersection with S Morgan Street, the new structure will replace the existing two-story manufacturing plant of the Bays Corporation, famous for their English Muffins, and its adjacent parking lot. Developer Belgravia Group is behind the project, who is also responsible for CA6 Condos building rising nearby, with Sullivan Goulette Wilson Architects leading the design.

The Chicago Zoning Board of Appeals has approved a mixed-use project at 1800 W Berenice Avenue in North Center. Located on the intersection with N Ravenswood Avenue, the site is currently occupied by a two-story building housing a small theater group and is bound by CTA tracks to the west and Metra tracks to the east. Landrosh Development is the firm behind the project with Sullivan Goulette Wilson Architects working on the design which received zoning approval last year.

City Council Approves Redevelopment At 2653 N Clark Street In Lincoln Park

The Chicago City Council has approved the redevelopment and land-use agreement for The Covent Hotel mixed-use renovation at 2653 N Clark Street in Lincoln Park. Located on the corner with W Drummond Place just a few blocks from the lake, the proposal would reconvert the Single Room Occupancy (SRO) property into affordable studios led by the National Historic Preservation (NHP) Foundation. The approval would also allow for city funds to be distributed to NHP to fulfill the conversion that has been in the works since 2019.
