Construction Progresses for Nine Single-Family Homes at 5338-56 W Argyle Avenue in Jefferson Park

With foundation work beginning late last year, construction is progressing rapidly for a collection of nine single family residences at 5338-56 W Argyle Avenue at the corner of W Argyle Street and N Long Avenue in Jefferson Park. Developed by MK Construction & Builders and designed by Beata Klak, each of the homes will stand three stories and occupy 3,200 square feet. Each is expected to sell for $800,000.

Permits Issued for 4706-08 S Marshfield Avenue in Back of the Yards

Construction permits have been issued for two new three-story modular residential buildings at 4706-08 S Marshfield Avenue in Back of the Yards. The owner of both projects is listed as Celadon Partners LLC, a Chicago-based real estate development firm that specializes in modular construction. The site of the projects was previously occupied by a vacant lot with an area of 2,407 square feet.

Updated Details Revealed For McKinley Park RFP

Further details and renderings have been revealed for the finalist of the Central Manufacturing District RFP. Located at 1769 W Pershing Road in McKinley Park just west of the intersection with S Ashland Avenue, we last covered the project in January as the city narrowed it down to three finalists with mixed-use proposals featuring everything from housing to movie studios on the multi-site lot. The Chicago Department of Planning and Development is leading the selection process with the bids being presented earlier this week at a community meeting.

Mixed-Use Proposal Announced For 135 N Des Plaines In West Loop Gate

Plans have been revealed for a mixed-use development at 135 N Des Plaines Street in West Loop Gate. Located on the southeast corner with W Randolph Street and replacing a surface parking lot, the new proposal will bring added residential units to the interstitial neighborhood which has seen other small scale proposals filling in the remaining gaps in the area. Developer Rogers Park Holdings LLC has not disclosed who their architect is, but the project was revealed via Alderman Reilly’s newsletter.
