New construction permits have been issued for a four-story, multi-unit residential building located at 1533 W Fry Street in West Town. RED Architects is behind the design, while K2 Studio is the architect of record. Plans indicate six units with front- and rear-covered open decks on the first floor, covered open front decks on the third floor, an open rear rooftop deck, and a four-story open egress stairwell. Plans also include a detached six-vehicle garage and two off-street parking spaces with electric charging stations.

Alderman Approves Zoning For 4701 N Clark Street In Uptown

The 46th Ward Alderman has announced his support for the rezoning of the residential development at 4701 N Clark Street in Uptown. Alderman James Cappleman released a press report backing the project, located just north of the intersection with W Leland Avenue. It will be replacing a one-story drive-thru bank that currently sits vacant, with developer Platinum Homes proposing the new multi-story building designed by 360 Design Studio across the street from Chase Park.

City Council Approves Residential Development In Lake View East

The Chicago City Council has approved the residential development at 2821 N Orchard Street in Lake View East. Located just north of the intersection with W Diversey Parkway, the small project will replace an over 100-year-old three-story home slot in between a parking garage and a double-wide three-flat structure. The developer is quite unique in that it is the Estate of Kathy A. Poczatek and is working with local design firm Hanna Architects.

Updated Plans Revealed For 5853 N Broadway In Edgewater

Updated plans have been revealed for the affordable residential development at 5853 N Broadway in Edgewater. Located south of the intersection with W Thorndale Avenue and adjacent to the Broadway Armory Community Center, the new structure will replace a one-story building and its parking lot with much needed vertical density. We last covered the project in April of last year as its initial design was released, now an updated design has been made public of the proposal by Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation, with Landon Bone Baker Architects working on the new aesthetic.
