Construction Progress Update From 1646 North Orchard Street in Old Town

Construction work is ongoing for a four-story with basement, five-unit residential development at 1646 North Orchard Street in the Old Town neighborhood. The City of Chicago issued a new construction permit for the property on June 24, 2024. Urban Edge Group is developing the new homes, as well as handling the general contractor duties. The building is topped out, and brickwork is being added to the exterior walls before window installation begins.

3019 West Lyndale Street construction permitted

The City of Chicago has issued a new construction permit for a residential project at 3019 West Lyndale Street in Logan Square. The new homes replace a three-story multi-unit residence at 3017 West Lyndale that was permitted for demolition in November. As of the first week of January, demo fencing had been set up around the house’s perimeter, but razing had yet to begin.

Windows Are In, Balconies Take Shape, At Topped-Out 3202 North Racine

The apartment building at 3202 North Racine Avenue continues to progress toward exterior completion in Lake View. Most of the windows have now been installed, with sliding glass doors still to come as work on the suspended balconies continues. The five-story elevator building will include 27 rental units.

Details Revealed For Residential Conversion Of Lofts Under 1000M In The South Loop

Work is underway on a five-story, 56-unit residential development at 1101 West Berwyn Avenue in the Edgewater neighborhood. A new construction permit, issued using the address of 5256 North Winthrop Avenue, came through on December 26, 2024, and developer and general contractor Panoptic Group wasted no time getting started.

A new construction permit has been issued by the City of Chicago to replace a long-vacant lot at 1406 West Cuyler Avenue in the Graceland West neighborhood of Lake View. The permit was issued on January 10, after an application date of July 8, 2024. Costs for the new build are estimated to be $200,000.

Chicago’s tallest construction project continues to rise out of the Chicago Spire cofferdam, as the North Tower at 400 Lake Shore grows upward. There’s still some outward growth here as well, with the tower’s footprint spreading across the construction site in Streeterville.

Plan Commission Approves Three-Tower Condos In Fulton Market

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use proposal at 1325 W Fulton Street within Fulton Market District. Revealed last year, the multi-tower, multi-phase project will replace a now-vacant lot bound by N Ada Street to the west and N Elizabeth Street to the east. The current plans are being led by Sulo Development.

Two Units Top Out At 2034 North Racine Avenue In Lincoln Park

A three-story, two-unit residential building has topped out at 2034 North Racine Avenue in the Lincoln Park Neighborhood. Located mid-block between Dickens and Armitage Avenues, the homes are being developed by Real View Design & Development of the Near West Side, who are also responsible for the building’s design.

6543 South Langley Avenue construction permit

New Construction Permit Issued For Two-Flat At 6543 South Langley In Woodlawn

A two-story, two-unit building has been permitted at 6543 South Langley Avenue in Woodlawn. Issued on January 10, the permit identifies Eckco Development Group of Hinsdale as the developer and general contractor, while naming Hanna Architects as architect of record. Plans include a detached garage with two parking spaces at the rear of the property, accessed from the alley.
